About the role

The Medical Cannabis Director leads the Medical Cannabis Registry for the State of Georgia, providing qualified patients and caregivers with identification cards. This senior position shapes strategy, operations, and program delivery within the Department of Public Health.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic, operational, and programmatic leadership for the Medical Cannabis Registry.
• Direct day‑to‑day activities of the Medical Cannabis Program, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.
• Establish a clear vision for the program’s future, anticipate emerging needs, and develop improvement strategies.
• Monitor performance data, identify trends and risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, communicating program performance, challenges, and resource requirements.
• Collaborate with Epidemiology and other units to recommend and implement policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading public‑health or regulatory programs.
• Strong strategic planning and operational management background.
• Ability to analyze program data, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for advising senior executives and stakeholders.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams in a government setting.
