Medical Assistant – Full Time at Avon Urgent Care

About the role

Responsible for independently assisting providers with patient care, maintaining patient records and completing administrative duties that support the management of patient care in an urgent‑care setting.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, monitor and record vital signs, patient history and document procedures in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Field patient phone calls promptly and professionally.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures and direct patient care activities.
• Prepare patients for scheduled procedures, perform venipunctures, injections and initiate intravenous therapy as needed.
• Monitor patients’ medical condition and report changes to the appropriate provider.
• Maintain cleanliness, stock supplies and ensure equipment functionality in examination rooms.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of patient care and administrative experience (preferred).
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, MAC, or equivalent) or a valid Colorado LPN, EMT, or related state license.

Required skills

• Venipuncture and injection administration.
• Intravenous therapy initiation.
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
