Medical Assistant – Cardiovascular Clinic (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Medical Assistant will work in the Cardiovascular Clinic supporting physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. The role involves direct patient care, data entry, and coordination of clinic activities while adhering to KHI policies and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit.
• Perform CLIA‑waived laboratory tests, venipuncture, and specimen collection.
• Enter patient data, balance accounts, charge fees, and collect payments.
• Schedule and confirm appointments, maintain communication between patients, families, and clinical staff.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, medication, and immunizations; report to public health as directed.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager or Nursing Director.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program or certification meeting national standards.
• One to two years of experience as a medical assistant in an outpatient clinical setting.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Required skills

• BLS certification.
• CLIA‑waived laboratory testing and proficiency testing.
• Venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Vital signs measurement and patient intake documentation.
• Medical record data entry and basic billing functions.
