Mechanical Engineer – Subsea Robotics & Offshore Projects

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer supports engineering activities in Morgan City for both small and large subsea projects, including ROVs, workover control systems and related tooling. The role covers the full product lifecycle from concept through design, manufacturing support, testing, offshore operations and field support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review engineering deliverables, calculations, design packages and technical documentation for subsea equipment.
• Perform conceptual and detailed mechanical design, analysis and verification for pressure‑containing and pressure‑tolerant systems.
• Select materials, coatings and corrosion mitigation solutions appropriate for subsea environments.
• Support manufacturing, supply‑chain, testing (FAT, SIT) and offshore commissioning activities.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting, root‑cause investigations and corrective actions in the field.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments (FMEA) and supplier qualification processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum two years of engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain TWIC, PEC Basic Training and BOSIET certifications.

Required skills

• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MathCAD and ANSYS for design and analysis.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of ROV and subsea equipment design.
• Understanding of hydraulic components, schematics and P&IDs.
• Design for manufacturability and cost‑effective solutions.
