Mechanical Engineer – MEP (2‑5 yrs experience)

About the role

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its MEP team. You will work alongside experienced engineers, architects, and designers to develop HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems from concept through construction. This role includes participation in the Blueprint early‑career leadership program.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, layout, and modeling of mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronic, natural gas distribution and domestic plumbing.
• Develop construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using REVIT and AutoCAD.
• Perform engineering calculations, load calculations, and system sizing under senior supervision.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients, and conduct site visits and field verification.
• Support cost estimate preparation and ensure compliance with building codes and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the AEC or MEP consulting industry.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Familiarity with Navisworks and point‑cloud scanning.
• Understanding of HVAC fundamentals, thermal loads, and building mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of building codes and standards such as ASHRAE, IMC, and IPC.
