Mechanical Engineer IV

About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer IV you will apply a strong foundation in physics, mathematics and materials science to solve complex mechanical problems, design custom tooling and support the full product life‑cycle at Applied Materials.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot a wide range of complex mechanical problems with limited supervision.
• Lead or execute engineering projects, including development of key suppliers.
• Develop, design, or modify engineering layouts, schematics and specifications.
• Communicate with internal and external customers regarding mechanical issues for specific projects.
• Design, develop and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing and associated processes.
• Generate product specifications and engineering test reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Subject‑matter expertise in CAD, thermodynamics, sheet‑metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis and Design for Excellence principles.
