Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

You will support the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and custom machinery, working alongside experienced engineers from concept through production. The role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle while contributing to designs, documentation, and hands‑on build support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing custom automated assembly equipment and mechanical systems.
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detail drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting documentation.
• Ensure accuracy of drawings and documentation for manufacturing release.
• Support machine builds, assembly, and debugging efforts on the production floor.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to improve designs for usability and efficiency.
• Work with engineers, designers, and cross‑functional teams on project work.
• Support updates through engineering changes and revisions.
• Learn and apply best practices in machine design, drafting, and manufacturing processes.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of mechanical design or related engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Proactive, hands‑on mindset with a “no task too small” attitude.
• Strong team player who communicates effectively.
• Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow within the role.
• Ability to manage tasks and follow through in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD software).
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles.
• Familiarity with GD&T drafting standards (preferred).
• Exposure to mechanical components such as motors, sensors, pneumatics (helpful).
