Mechanic B – Evening Shift (2nd Shift)

About the role

As a Mechanic B on the evening (2nd) shift, you will keep production and facility equipment running safely and efficiently in a food‑manufacturing environment. The role involves hands‑on repairs, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous‑improvement projects while mentoring junior technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs across production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems.
• Support root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving projects.
• Clean, lubricate, and inspect machinery for wear or damage.
• Monitor and maintain plant systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience, including manufacturing.
• Mechanical/electrical trade background or technical school preferred.
• Working knowledge of CMMS strongly recommended.
• Able to lift up to 50 lb and remain active throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working around powders, chemicals, and food allergens.
• Flexible to work overtime based on business needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CMMS and basic software (e.g., HVAC, compressors, oilers).
• Experience using Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, AS400, PQM, or Captiva.
• Ability to read blueprints and create rough sketches.
• Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and machine‑shop equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical testing tools and mechanical systems.
