Materials Project Management Manager (Level IV)

About the role

The Manager IV, Materials Project Management leads cross‑functional planning, inventory, and sourcing activities to support semiconductor manufacturing at Applied Materials.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a cross‑functional, fully integrated planning process covering make‑versus‑buy decisions, capacity, scheduling, inventory and cost elements.
• Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts and historical usage to create build‑to‑order and build‑to‑forecast plans.
• Coordinate with business teams to devise cost‑effective production strategies that meet demand.
• Establish and maintain inventory forecasting, purchasing and material control best practices.
• Oversee production scheduling, monitor material inventories and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Implement inventory control systems with Finance to detect discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
• Develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier scorecards to meet cost, quality and delivery targets.

Required profile

• In‑depth understanding of materials planning concepts and related business functions.
• Proven ability to lead a homogeneous team, adapt plans to operational challenges and drive results.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational issues.
• Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders and representing the materials organization on cross‑functional task forces.
