Material Handler – Warehouse Operations

About the role

Join BASF's Performance Materials team in Wyandotte, MI as a Material Handler. You will support sustainable plastic production by handling bulk material movements and ensuring accurate logistics documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform loading of bulk trucks from silos and supersacks.
• Verify receiving and loading documents.
• Cross‑train to perform additional logistics duties.
• Receive and off‑load rail cars.
• Carry out general warehouse tasks and use various software applications.
• Count and report physical inventory.
• Apply safety methods and work overtime on rotating weekends and holidays.
• Communicate with logistic planners and production personnel.
• Fill in other logistics department areas as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Forklift Operator certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work an 8‑hour shift with occasional extended hours.
• Willingness to work overtime on rotating weekends and holidays.
• Hazcom training and experience in shipping and receiving (preferred).
• Capability to lift up to 50 lb occasionally.

Required skills

• Forklift operation certification.
• Hazard communication (Hazcom) training.
