Material Damage Appraiser – Massachusetts

About the role

Join MAPFRE as a Material Damage Appraiser in the Massachusetts territory, where you will evaluate vehicle damage and produce accurate repair estimates. You will work with both virtual and in‑person inspections, using industry‑leading estimating tools to support fair claim settlements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical and virtual inspections of damaged vehicles to assess loss severity.
• Create detailed repair estimates using industry‑standard estimating platforms.
• Analyze damage to determine appropriate repair methods, parts, and labor requirements.
• Collaborate with repair facilities, customers, and claims professionals to facilitate the repair process.
• Stay current on evolving vehicle technologies, repair methodologies, and labor rates.
• Support catastrophe response efforts and field assignments as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Active Massachusetts Appraiser License.
• 1‑3 years of experience in auto damage appraisal, estimating, or collision repair.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer‑service abilities.
• Willingness to travel locally for field inspections.

Required skills

• Proficiency with estimating software.
• Vehicle inspection and damage analysis.
