Marine Quality Inspector

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Marine Quality Inspector to join Saronic Technologies’ shipyard team. The role supports construction, integration and testing of autonomous surface vessels, ensuring all materials, components and finished ships meet the highest quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in‑process and final inspections of welds, hull structures, electrical/electronic systems, outfitting and completed vessels against drawings, specifications and military/regulatory requirements.
• Support harbor and sea trials with inspection and verification activities.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, document non‑conformances and corrective actions, and prepare inspection reports.
• Verify compliance with internal quality standards, ISO 9001, ABS, Navy and Department of Defense regulations.
• Identify defects, conduct root‑cause analysis with cross‑functional teams and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives, process audits and efficiency projects.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, supply‑chain and regulatory inspectors to resolve quality issues.
• Assist in training new inspectors and shipyard personnel on inspection procedures and tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of quality inspection experience in shipbuilding, defense, aerospace or maritime environments.
• Strong understanding of quality‑control principles, inspection techniques and measurement methods.
• Ability to work flexible shifts in a fast‑paced shipyard setting.

Required skills

• Use of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, weld‑inspection equipment and electrical test devices.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ABS, Navy and Department of Defense standards.
• Proficiency in documenting inspection results and non‑conformances.
