Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Controls

About the role

Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Controls will support Manufacturing Engineers and Tool Development Engineers in fixture development, process improvement, and special projects within OTTO Engineering’s Controls Division.

Key responsibilities

• Establish design concepts for jigs and fixtures from production drawings and feedback.
• Make design changes to existing tooling to improve product quality and reduce cycle time.
• Assemble and debug mechanisms; order purchased components for in‑house designs.
• Work with the machine shop and external suppliers to fabricate component parts.
• Design, build, program and debug controller boxes on in‑house or purchased equipment.
• Inspect and service electric and electronic control circuits and panels periodically.
• Disassemble, repair, or replace worn or defective parts.
• Assist in moving equipment and provide support to production supervision.
• Adjust equipment to maintain quality and identify machine improvements.
• Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
• Basic communication skills.
• Ability to lift equipment up to 40 lbs.
• Experience using machining equipment.
• Experience in basic electronics, wiring, and programming.

Required skills

• Machining equipment operation.
• Basic electronics knowledge.
• Wiring and circuit troubleshooting.
• Programming of controller boxes.
• Design of jigs and fixtures.
