Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineer at 3M in Decatur, AL, you will drive safety, quality, service and cost improvements for the Multi‑Layer Optical Film production lines. You will collaborate with local and global teams, applying Lean, Six Sigma and continuous‑improvement tools to solve problems and scale new products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement improvements in safety, quality, service and productivity within the MOF production areas.
• Support rapid resolution of issues and complaints through root‑cause analysis, communication and corrective actions.
• Lead scale‑up projects for new products and work on cross‑functional teams.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma and continuous‑improvement methodologies to drive performance.
• Create training materials, process standards and documentation for production lines.
• Provide coverage for production and experimental runs in a 24/7 manufacturing environment as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an engineering discipline, completed and verified prior to start.
• At least one year of experience in process, product or manufacturing engineering, or a related internship.
• Strong organization, communication, project‑management and coaching abilities.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
