Manufacturing Engineer – Communications

About the role

Join 3M’s global team of innovative engineers as a Comms Manufacturing Engineer. You will apply engineering and continuous‑improvement methods to enhance safety, quality, cost, capacity and productivity on the manufacturing floor.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, initiate and lead projects that improve process safety, quality, service, cost, capacity and productivity.
• Improve equipment capability using standard work, tier reviews and Kaizen events.
• Troubleshoot variation, perform root‑cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.
• Engage in daily operations to resolve equipment downtime, assure quality and meet service targets.
• Create and maintain documentation such as specifications, preventive‑maintenance plans and change‑management records.
• Build a network of support across laboratory, quality, finance, manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering discipline (completed before start date).
• Minimum three years of experience in a manufacturing environment (private, public, government or military).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology; Green Belt certification is a plus.
