Manufacturing Engineer (Advanced Materials)

About the role

Helicon is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive the scale‑up of advanced composite parts in Los Angeles. You will own production processes from build readiness through steady‑state manufacturing and work closely with customers to ensure designs are manufacturable at volume.

Key responsibilities

• Own production processes from build readiness to steady‑state manufacturing.
• Collaborate with customers to perform Design‑for‑Manufacturing (DFM) and make parts ready for high‑volume production.
• Lead equipment installation, procurement, testing and commissioning of robotic cells, including effector design, fixturing and layout.
• Design and commission tooling for industrial robotic applications.
• Integrate sensors and mechanical components into manufacturing lines.
• Work with software engineers to embed real manufacturing constraints into Helicon’s Argos platform.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of first‑principles physics.
• Proven track record of engineering problem solving driven by fundamentals.
• Experience designing and commissioning tooling for industrial robotics.
• Experience with high‑volume composite processes and hydraulic presses.
• Ability to work directly with customers and own end‑to‑end solutions.
