About the role
The Manufacturing CNC Programmer’s primary responsibility is modelling and post‑processing of manufacturing projects that require advanced high‑speed CNC machining G‑coding using SolidWorks and Mastercam. This role supports Oceaneering’s Marine Services Division (MSD) and is based in Chesapeake, VA. Overtime may be required up to 20% of the year.
Key responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day coordination of machine‑shop programming issues.
- Evaluate projects and tooling requirements for computer‑aided manufacturing.
- Generate solid‑model files and CNC tool paths with interference checks.
- Create, organize and manage CAM post‑editor files and upload operator‑ready G‑Code.
- Develop advanced high‑speed CNC turning and machining processes, including fixturing and tooling design.
- Produce step‑by‑step operator set‑up instructions and maintain a safe work environment.
Required profile
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least five years of CNC machining process development experience.
- Minimum five years of CAM post‑editing experience using SolidWorks and Mastercam.
- Experience with close‑tolerance, high‑speed machining.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Ability to read blueprints and apply advanced mathematics.
- U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship).
