Managing Editor (Hybrid, New York)

About the role

Pubity is launching its first original news operation and needs a Managing Editor to shape the editorial vision and daily news agenda. You will define what news looks like at Pubity, launch original social news posts, and build the editorial team, standards, and systems that support high‑quality reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Own the daily news agenda, selecting stories that matter to Pubity’s audience.
• Define Pubity’s editorial proposition across news, culture, entertainment, and internet trends.
• Develop a clear editorial voice that makes fast‑moving or complex stories accessible and native to social platforms.
• Launch and oversee original news social posts and reporting practices.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead an editorial team while establishing standards and workflows.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of what captures audience attention and drives sharing.
• Strong editorial judgment and commitment to journalistic standards.
• Experience building and leading editorial functions in a digital environment.
