About the role

The Manager of Scheduling and Financial Clearance leads the Outpatient Central Scheduling department, ensuring that patients are scheduled and financially cleared before services are rendered. This role balances patient experience with revenue cycle efficiency, directly influencing the hospital’s financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop Financial Clearance and Central Scheduling supervisors and staff, including hiring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures for pre‑registration, insurance verification, referrals, prior authorizations, and price estimations.
• Ensure timely financial clearance to reduce denials and support accurate reimbursement.
• Lead departmental and cross‑functional process‑improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle management and external partners to align processes and maintain a unified patient experience.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Business or Healthcare (or equivalent experience); Bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare setting, with proven team‑leadership experience.
• Strong analytical ability to generate, interpret, and act on quantitative data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross‑departmental collaboration.
• Demonstrated capability to develop policies, manage projects, and drive performance improvements.
