Manager, Model Risk and Governance

About the role

Lead and grow a model risk and governance function at SentiLink, overseeing a team of data scientists and governance professionals. This remote, US‑based position sets strategy, manages customer relationships, and performs hands‑on work to ensure models meet regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of 3+ data scientists and governance experts.
• Own performance monitoring, drift monitoring, fair‑lending assessments, validation, model inventory and change management.
• Set the function’s strategy, deciding what to automate, standardize, and improve beyond industry norms.
• Manage relationships across Data Science, Engineering, Partner Success, Sales, and directly with customers and regulators.
• Prepare validation reports, governance documentation, and performance summaries for internal leadership, customers, auditors and regulators.
• Step in to perform technical work when needed to unblock deployments or mentor the team.

Required profile

• 8+ years in model risk management, model validation, or quantitative risk, with experience building or scaling a governance team.
• 4+ years of people‑management experience leading model risk or governance teams.
• Deep knowledge of US financial model governance (SR 11‑7, SR 26‑2, OCC guidance, fair‑lending).
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; legal authorization to work in the US.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL (PostgreSQL) and Excel/Google Sheets.
• AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift, SageMaker).
