Manager, Data Scientist – AI Agentic Solutions

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a senior leader to drive the architecture, design, and implementation of Agentic AI and Multi‑Agent Systems that address complex manufacturing challenges. You will lead a hands‑on technical team, build scalable AI platforms, and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to turn high‑value AI use cases into production‑grade solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of autonomous AI agents using frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, and Azure AI Foundry.
• Build and maintain enterprise AI platforms on Azure AI, Databricks, Python, vector and graph databases, and cloud‑native technologies.
• Establish AI engineering best practices covering LLMOps, AI governance, observability, security, prompt engineering, and model optimization.
• Mentor AI engineers and data scientists while staying actively involved in coding, architecture reviews, and solution design.
• Drive proof‑of‑concepts, rapid prototyping, and production deployments that deliver measurable business value.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or related field.
• Recognized technical expert in Generative AI, Agentic AI, Multi‑Agent Architectures, and enterprise AI platforms.
• Proven ability to lead complex AI transformation initiatives from strategy through production.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply‑chain, and operational processes and how AI can transform them.
