Manager, Credit Reserves & Risk Management

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a senior leader to manage its Credit Reserves and Risk Management (CRRM) department within the Payments & Strategy Division. The role contributes directly to the stability of the nation’s financial system by overseeing discount window operations, liquidity provisioning, and payment‑system access.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of professionals, set priorities, and ensure efficient use of resources to meet CRRM objectives.
• Oversee discount‑window credit, reserve account administration, and monitoring of financial conditions of 10th District institutions.
• Develop and improve core processes, policies, and standards related to liquidity and risk mitigation.
• Drive cross‑functional initiatives, provide strategic input, and represent the Bank in interactions with regulators, industry stakeholders, and senior leadership.
• Manage workforce planning, recruitment, performance coaching, and employee development.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with experience making complex, risk‑informed decisions.
• Deep interest in the payments ecosystem and understanding of payment flows, infrastructure, and innovation.
• Proven project‑management expertise, including organization, planning, and execution of large‑scale initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
• Broad knowledge of Federal Reserve operations, regulations, and policies.
