Maintenance Technician - Oak Crest

About the role

The Maintenance Technician at Oak Crest is responsible for performing technical and mechanical work to keep the building, grounds, amenities and common areas clean, safe and fully functional. This full‑time position is based in Houston, Texas and supports Greystar’s property standards.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and timely for proper tracking.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning and painting of curbs and signage.
• Inspect contractor work, conduct routine property inspections and report safety or risk concerns.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders and lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) in all weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays and respond to on‑call situations.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart when required.
• EPA Type 1 and Type 2 or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling.
• All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
