Maintenance Technician – Maxwell at Bascom

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will ensure the physical aspects of the Maxwell at Bascom property—including buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This full‑time position works a Saturday‑Wednesday schedule supporting a 590‑unit lease‑up, mid‑rise community in San Jose.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Maintain common areas and amenities by cleaning, pressure‑washing, trash removal and painting as required.
• Inspect contractor work to verify compliance with quality and specification standards.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience, preferably in a multifamily or lease‑up environment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders and lift up to 50 lb, and to work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart on the property.

Required skills

• Strong HVAC troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Basic plumbing knowledge.
• EPA Type I and Type II (or Universal) refrigerant recycling certification.
• Ability to follow OSHA safety procedures and complete required training.
