Maintenance Technician (Make‑Ready & Repairs)

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to ensure that our residential properties in Lenexa meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. The role involves responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, creating punch lists, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies, completing repairs, and inspecting finished work.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, track usage, return unused items, and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when possible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies and participate in routine safety meetings.
• Attention to detail in completing documentation and inspections.
