Maintenance Technician for Zig Apartments

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of Zig Apartments—including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and preventative maintenance work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Maintain common areas and amenities by cleaning, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, and performing minor painting and signage work.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Adherence to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, including participation in safety meetings and completion of OSHA‑related training.
• Ability to inspect work performed by contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.

Required skills

• EPA Type I refrigerant certification.
• EPA Type II or Universal refrigerant certification.
• State and local certifications required for service technicians.
• Proficiency with pressure‑washing equipment, hand and power tools, and basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC maintenance.
• Inventory management and documentation of service requests.
