Maintenance Technician – Fitzroy

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This onsite role involves responding to resident requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks, diagnosing issues and repairing them according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and maintain timely paperwork for tracking purposes.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep, such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting as needed.

Required profile

• Compliance with Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, including OSHA training and incident reporting.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to respond to on‑call duties.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart when required.

Required skills

• EPA refrigerant recycling certification (Type 1, Type 2, or Universal).
• Proficiency in basic mechanical and preventative maintenance techniques.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
