Maintenance Repair Technician – Painter

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences seeks a Maintenance Repair Technician specialized in painting to support facility upkeep. The role involves preparing surfaces, applying finishes, and performing a range of minor repairs across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, mix, and apply paint or stain to metal, sheet‑rock, and other surfaces using industry best practices.
• Patch, repair, and finish walls and ceilings, including drywall finishing and demolition of existing structures.
• Operate spray equipment safely and erect/use scaffolding and ladders for elevated work.
• Perform minor carpentry, roof maintenance, flooring, plumbing, HVAC/mechanical, and electrical tasks as needed.
• Document all work in the Engineering & Operations work‑order system.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of professional painting experience.
• Valid driver’s license with fewer than 12 points on the motor vehicle record.

Required skills

• Painting and surface preparation.
