Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd Shift

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic for the second shift. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the facility’s structure and equipment, ensuring reliable operation of building systems across a range of trades.

Key responsibilities

• Perform moderately complex troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including water distribution and wastewater disposal.
• Conduct scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, and service of complex multi‑component equipment.
• Assist with construction, installation, and furnishing activities related to the facility.
• Support room setups, snow/ice removal, and inclement‑weather clean‑up while adhering to OSHA safety standards.

Required profile

• 3–9+ years of relevant experience, depending on level (intermediate or senior).
• Journeyman certification in a related trade.
• High school diploma or GED.

Required skills

• Carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, DDC, electrical, pneumatic, and control schematics.
• Experience with building automation systems and basic computer skills (MS Office).
