About the role
The University of Arkansas is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support daily operations of its parking garage and surrounding grounds. This hourly, fixed‑term position involves routine upkeep, trash removal, and operation of cleaning equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and remove trash from parking structures and adjacent areas.
- Operate power‑washing and floor‑care equipment for surface cleaning.
- Drive university and utility vehicles, occasionally towing trailers.
- Maintain custodial equipment and perform minor repairs.
- Assist with preventive maintenance of parking facilities and report repair or safety issues.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of groundskeeping or equipment maintenance experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
Required skills
- Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and safety of custodial equipment.
- Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and safety of motorized vehicles and utility equipment.
- Ability to perform routine building and grounds maintenance tasks.
