Maintenance Assistant – Parking Facilities

About the role

The Maintenance Assistant supports daily operations of the university parking garages and surrounding grounds. This weather‑essential position involves trash collection, equipment operation, and basic facility upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and remove trash from parking structures and adjacent areas.
• Operate power‑washing and floor‑care equipment.
• Drive university and utility vehicles, occasionally with trailers.
• Perform minor custodial equipment maintenance and request supplies.
• Assist with preventive maintenance of parking facilities and report repairs or safety issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of grounds‑keeping or equipment‑maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Operation of power‑washing equipment.
• Operation of floor‑care and custodial equipment.
• Vehicle and trailer driving skills.
• Basic knowledge of equipment safety and maintenance procedures.
