Machinist II

About the role

Airbus is looking for a skilled Machinist II to join the Machine Shop at its Mobile, Alabama manufacturing facility. The role focuses on fabricating high‑tolerance aerospace components for the A220 and A320 families, using both advanced multi‑axis CNC equipment and classic manual machines.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate 3‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines for complex parts.
• Perform precision machining on manual lathes and milling machines.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure components meet strict aerospace tolerances.
• Maintain tool inventories, conduct routine equipment inspections, and troubleshoot machining issues.
• Collaborate with quality, structure, and electrical teams on the shop floor to support aircraft production.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Machinist, preferably at Level II or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Willingness to work on an onsite manufacturing floor.
