Machinist II – CNC & Manual Machining

About the role

Airbus is looking for a skilled Machinist II to join the Machine Shop at its Mobile, Alabama manufacturing facility. The role focuses on fabricating high‑tolerance aerospace components for the A220 and A320 families using both advanced multi‑axis CNC equipment and classic manual machines.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate 3‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines for complex aerospace parts.
• Perform precision machining on manual milling machines and lathes.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure compliance with tight tolerance specifications.
• Maintain tool inventories, perform routine equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot machining issues.
• Document work orders, record production data, and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience as a Machinist Level II in an aerospace or high‑precision manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Willingness to follow safety and compliance procedures.
