Life & Health Complaints Analyst I

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Insurance Department is seeking a Life & Health Complaints Analyst I to evaluate insurance complaints, ensure compliance with state law, and support policyholders in resolving disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Review complaints against insurers for compliance with Georgia insurance statutes.
• Interview policyholders and claimants to verify the validity of rejected claims.
• Analyze insurance policies to determine coverage, exclusions, and conditions.
• Assess claim incidents and request underwriting files to evaluate good‑faith investigations.
• Research legal provisions and cite relevant code sections when recommending insurer payment.
• Draft concise, accurate responses to complex inquiries.
• Compile data and generate reports to support departmental projects.

Required profile

• Associate degree from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of related experience, or one year in a comparable state position.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret insurance contracts and legal requirements.
• Excellent written communication for preparing clear responses.
