About the role
The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts (ASMSA) seeks a Licensed Social Worker to support the social and emotional wellbeing of its residential student community. Working under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor, the professional will deliver clinical services and coordinate wellness initiatives for gifted and talented high‑school students.
Key responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students under the guidance of a Licensed Professional Counselor.
- Develop and implement programs that promote mental health, resilience, and social skills.
- Coordinate referrals to external mental‑health providers and follow‑up on treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with state and institutional policies.
- Collaborate with Residential Affairs staff, faculty, and parents to address student concerns.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work.
- Current Arkansas license or eligibility for Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Master Social Worker within six months of hire.
- Experience working in student support programs, preferably with gifted or talented populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport quickly.
