Licensed Social Worker Level 3 – Milledgeville

About the role

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Licensed Social Worker Level 3 to work at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville. Under broad supervision, you will conduct psychosocial assessments, develop and monitor treatment plans, and provide counseling for clients with complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to help clients overcome dependencies and adjust to life changes.
• Perform clinical assessments, case management, and discharge planning for patients.
• Advocate for clients by coordinating services, resolving crises, and referring families to community resources.
• Lead or support support groups and provide training to direct‑care staff on behavior‑modification techniques.
• Document client progress against measurable goals outlined in treatment plans.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current Georgia licensure appropriate for the assignment.
• At least two years of experience as a Social Worker, Licensed Level 2 or equivalent post‑license experience.
