Licensed Practical Nurse – Transplant Unit

About the role

The Transplant unit at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment. This full‑time, day‑shift position supports transplant patients throughout their pre‑ and post‑operative journeys.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver bedside nursing care to transplant patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
• Assist with transplant procedures and coordinate patient preparation and recovery.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and allied health staff to ensure seamless care transitions.
• Educate patients and families on post‑transplant care plans and medication regimens.

Required profile

• Current LPN license in good standing and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Experience in acute care or transplant settings is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification.
