Licensed Practical Nurse – Ortho Spine Clinic

About the role

Ochsner Health’s Ortho Spine Clinic in Baton Rouge is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care, including IV therapy, under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role supports the multidisciplinary team and contributes to high‑quality, personalized care for orthopedic and spine patients.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff to ensure a positive experience.
• Adapt quickly to changing unit demands and priorities throughout the shift.
• Maintain and update clinical knowledge, credentials, and professional development.
• Perform other related duties as required by the department.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities with sound judgment.
• Effective interpersonal and delegation skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information securely.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• IV therapy competency (preferred).
