Licensed Certified Social Worker – Internal Medicine Clinics

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Licensed Certified Social Worker to join its Internal Medicine Clinics. In this position you will provide comprehensive social work services to adult patients, supporting their medical treatment and overall well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients in internal medicine.
• Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and education to patients and families.
• Coordinate referrals to community resources, support services, and follow‑up care.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Document all interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and staff training.

Required profile

• Current Arkansas license as a Certified Social Worker (LCSW).
• Experience delivering clinical social work services in a hospital or outpatient setting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance processes, and community resources.
