About the role

The Library Assistant Federal Work Study Student supports the College Library staff on campus, providing essential services to students and faculty while gaining valuable work experience.

Key responsibilities

Check‑in periodicals and operate computer systems for material circulation.
Shelve, inventory, and perform shelf reading of library collections.
Process new library materials, file documents, and handle typing and data‑entry tasks.
Deliver mail, act as courier, and answer telephone calls.
Provide guidance, directions, and answer patron questions.
Open and close the library, offering computer assistance as needed.
Assist with special projects and other duties assigned by library staff.

Required profile

Be enrolled as a student at Columbus Technical College.
Complete FAFSA and be eligible for federal aid.
Submit a Federal Work‑Study Employment Application.
Hold a high school diploma or GED.
Demonstrate financial need and be Pell‑eligible.
Maintain satisfactory academic progress for Federal Student Aid programs.
