About the role

Clay is scaling rapidly and needs its first Legal Operations professional to build the systems, processes, and infrastructure that will power the Legal function today and support long‑term growth. This builder role will design and implement legal intake, workflow, and tech solutions across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Own the legal intake and workflow system, creating a scalable process for managing requests, routing, prioritization, and tracking.
• Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Support, and Finance to align legal processes with business operations.
• Manage relationships with outside counsel, BPOs, and vendors to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Maintain the legal tech stack (e.g., Ironclad, DocuSign), drive adoption, clean integrations, and continuous improvement.
• Leverage AI to automate workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with Enablement to train GTM teams on engaging with legal processes and keep knowledge hubs current.

Required profile

• 5+ years in legal operations, program management, in‑house paralegal work, or operations roles building cross‑functional processes.
• Proven ability to turn ambiguous operational problems into clear, scalable solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Experience managing external legal partners and vendors.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with legal tech platforms such as Ironclad and DocuSign.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven workflow automation.
