About the role
The Office of Legal Affairs is seeking a Legal Officer for a temporary, full‑time assignment in its General Legal Division. Reporting to senior legal leadership, the officer will support a wide range of complex legal matters across international commercial, public, private and administrative law.
Key responsibilities
- Lead one or more areas of legal concentration, handling multi‑disciplinary and complex cases.
- Provide legal advice on substantive and procedural issues related to administration, procurement, peacekeeping, contracts, investigations and more.
- Conduct extensive legal research, draft opinions, briefs, reports and correspondence.
- Prepare and contribute to submissions or motions in arbitral proceedings.
- Support committees, task forces and expert groups with background materials and meeting reports.
- Review, draft, negotiate and develop complex contracts, agreements and legal motions.
- Assist in dispute resolution, negotiations and settlement strategies.
- Advise on procurement activities and interpretation of financial and staff regulations.
Required profile
- Ability to work independently on complex, multi‑jurisdictional legal matters.
- Experience handling contracts, arbitration and dispute resolution.
