Lead Software Engineer

About the role

PactFi is building a secure, end‑to‑end platform for private credit transactions. As a Lead Software Engineer you will act as the technical lead for a product squad, driving the design, development, and delivery of full‑stack features while mentoring the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full‑stack features from data model to API and UI, owning them through production support.
• Set and enforce technical standards, including architecture patterns, API design, testing strategy, and documentation.
• Lead design discussions, make pragmatic trade‑offs across performance, security, cost, and timelines.
• Identify and reduce technical debt, improve reliability, observability, and developer experience.
• Mentor mid‑level and junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and structured feedback.
• Break large initiatives into well‑scoped work, sequence delivery, and keep the squad unblocked.
• Run architecture and code reviews that raise quality without slowing progress.
• Assist in interviewing, onboarding, and raising the hiring bar.
• Own the delivery health of the squad, surface risks early, and maintain high quality standards.

Required profile

• Generalist builder who can pick up any problem, ship solutions, and lead the team.
• Hands‑on engineer with strong judgment, breadth of experience, and a proven delivery track record.
• Ability to set technical direction, mentor others, and collaborate with Head of Engineering, Product Managers, and QA.
• Comfortable with technical leadership responsibilities, including up to two direct reports (optional).
