Lead Equipment Machinist

About the role

Lead Equipment Machinist supporting Nestlé’s Research & Development Center in Marysville. The role involves planning, organizing and performing maintenance and fabrication tasks on a variety of equipment under the supervision of the manager.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders in the AMM system using shop or portable equipment for fabrication and pilot‑plant areas.
• Operate CNC and manual lathes and mills, press brakes, industrial shears, roll‑forming and water‑jet machines.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and sketches (AutoCAD Inventor, AutoCAD) to fabricate parts, frames, brackets and mechanical assemblies.
• Perform mechanical installation, alignment, integration and commissioning of new or modified equipment.
• Provide emergency repair support for equipment breakdowns, safety and quality issues.
• Monitor contractor activities on site and ensure compliance with Nestlé’s contractor work rules.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of machinist experience with demonstrated expertise in at least two skilled‑trade areas.
• Strong written and verbal communication, math and trigonometry skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a safe, clean environment.

Required skills

• CNC/manual lathes and mills.
• Press brakes, industrial shears, roll‑forming and water‑jet equipment.
• AutoCAD Inventor and AutoCAD drawing interpretation.
• Precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Hand tools, power tools and machine/equipment manuals.
• Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM) system usage.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
