Lead Cook - Concession Kitchen

About the role

The Mann Center in Philadelphia is hiring a Lead Cook to oversee a small kitchen staff and run the concession stand's food preparation and service. The cook must be available for event days and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee food preparation and service in the concession stand and supervise a small kitchen staff to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment and clean the equipment and cooking area.
• Inventory products and prepare them according to management and health guidelines.
• Perform duties needed to deliver the concessions menu, including some cooking and willingness to learn.
• Represent the venue positively toward clients and maintain a cheerful, professional attitude and appearance.

Required profile

• At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a fast-paced high-end club or restaurant; previous cooking experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand, walk, reach and bend for long periods.
• Able to work flexible hours and under pressure, with effective oral communication and teamwork.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Required skills

• Preferred: SERVSafe and City of Philadelphia Food Safety Personnel Certificate.
• Ability to follow and report safety policies and procedures, and to complete company safety training.
