Lead AI Software Engineer – AI Enablement

About the role

Mastercard’s Cloud Team is building a holistic platform for Generative AI Large Language Models. As a Lead AI Software Engineer you will design, configure, and implement the platform, ensuring it follows cloud best‑practice patterns and supports both commercial and open‑source models.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy a Gen‑AI platform with MLOps/LLMOps capabilities.
• Align solutions with Mastercard’s cloud integration, automation, and security standards.
• Identify reuse opportunities and drive efficiency across the organization.
• Collaborate with IT, product owners, and business partners to prioritize roadmap items.
• Champion Mastercard engineering principles and share knowledge within the Software Engineering Guild.
• Define and track behavior‑changing metrics for AI adoption.

Required profile

• Lead software engineering experience with deep expertise in AWS and Azure AI services.
• Strong cloud architecture skills, including access controls, automation, integrations, and security in regulated environments.
• Solid understanding of MCP protocol and large‑scale deployment of MCP servers and AI agents.
• Extensive experience with Generative AI/LLM evaluation, governance, tuning, and deployment at scale.
• Background in AI/ML, data science, analytics, and SRE practices.
