Laboratory Assistant - Emergency Management Services

About the role

This part‑time Laboratory Assistant position supports the Emergency Management Services program within the Health Sciences Division. You will work under the Program Director of Emergency Medical Services, assisting with classroom and lab instruction for EMS students.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Program Director in instructing, supervising, and evaluating students in classroom and laboratory settings.
• Maintain safety and security standards in training areas, ensuring students follow all equipment and tool safety rules.
• Keep classrooms and work areas clean, organized, and properly maintained.
• Complete assigned annual training and ensure work‑related projects meet industrial standards.
• Adhere to work schedules, Fair Labor Standards Act provisions, and report any lateness or absences according to policy.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Georgia Paramedic License or NREMT Paramedic Certification.
• Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills with faculty, peers, and students.
• Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and a “can‑do” attitude.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $15.60.
• Flexible part‑time schedule up to 19 hours per week.
