Junior Tax Accountant – Remote Data Entry

About the role

This remote position supports tax preparation and accounting activities on a full‑time basis. You will enter and verify financial data, assist in preparing individual and corporate tax returns, and help maintain organized digital workpapers while adhering to strict confidentiality and data‑security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and verify financial and tax data in accounting systems.
• Assist with preparation of individual (1040) and corporate (1120, 1120S, 1065) tax returns, including related state and local filings.
• Maintain organized digital records and workpapers.
• Review source documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile basic account information and support bookkeeping tasks.
• Prepare and update financial statements and schedules.
• Respond to internal information requests promptly.
• Collaborate with senior staff to ensure timely, compliant filings.
• Follow data‑security and confidentiality protocols.

Required profile

• Familiarity with tax preparation and compliance for individual and corporate returns.
• Understanding of accounting principles, ledgers, reconciliations, balance sheets and income statements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information securely.
• Proficiency with accounting or tax software and Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Relevant education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prior internship or junior‑level experience in tax or bookkeeping is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
