Junior Front-End Developer (Svelte/SvelteKit)

About the Role

Are you a passionate aspiring developer looking to make a real impact? Arrows Up is seeking a motivated Junior Front-End Developer to join our growing team and help us build high-performance digital experiences for our diverse client portfolio.

Main Missions

• Develop and deploy end-to-end websites using Svelte and SvelteKit, including reusable components, layouts, and content integrations.
• Maintain and update existing WordPress sites by managing themes, plugins, and template files.
• Take full ownership of features, from the very first commit through to successful deployment.
• Optimize existing websites through code cleaning, performance improvements, and feature enhancements.
• Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, SEO, and web accessibility standards.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Lead Designers, and fellow developers in an agile environment.

Candidate Profile

• Junior level expertise: We welcome graduates, bootcamp alumni, self-taught developers, or those with internship/freelance experience.
• Strong desire to learn and master modern frameworks like Svelte.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern Front-End principles.
• Experience or strong interest in Svelte and SvelteKit.
• Knowledge of WordPress maintenance and theme customization.
• Understanding of SEO best practices and Web Accessibility (a11y).
• Familiarity with Core Web Vitals and performance optimization.

Work Environment

• Hybrid model based in St. Louis, MO.
• Collaborative in-office days with the flexibility of remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
