About the role
The JROTC Instructor leads the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program, fostering leadership, citizenship, and discipline among students. Reporting to the Director of Army Instruction, the role ensures program compliance and promotes a tradition of excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise the JROTC program to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage county and federal funding allocated to the program.
- Integrate the Classroom Performance System into instruction and oversee curriculum planning, drill, ceremonies, and assessments.
- Recruit and retain JROTC members while collaborating with school principals and parents.
- Lead staff meetings, trainings, and serve on district committees.
- Maintain district-owned assets and uphold confidentiality and attendance standards.
- Participate in periodic evaluations and adhere to district, state, and federal policies.
Required profile
- Retired Army personnel from grades E‑6 through E‑9 (AI) or W‑1 through W‑5 (AI), or a current drilling Soldier in the USAR or ARNG.
- Strong instructional ability and general knowledge of the course subject matter.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead, motivate, and develop young people in leadership, self‑reliance, discipline, and patriotism.

- Proficiency with the Classroom Performance System.
